HOW TO ACCURATELY MEASURE YOUR ATTACHMENT LUGGING
Identification, Measurement & Acceptance Criteria
Summary: To get the proper fitting for a coupler, a machine, or any new attachment, you have to accurately measure your current attachments lugging. Several dimensions are required such as, pin centres, boss spread and additional measurements if your attachment has a thumb. This article is a guide on how to ensure that the lugging dimensions are measured correctly.
Applies to: Anyone who needs assistance with measuring a standard pin lugging on an attachment with or without a thumb, such as a coupler, bucket, rake and more.
Final Acceptance Criteria
- Measure center to center distance between the stick and link pins accurately with a tape measure or digital caliber
- Measure the distance between the inside faces of the stick bosses
- Measure the distance between the inside faces of the link bosses
- For MACHINES equipped with a thumb, measurements are required from the attachment to which the thumb pins on to: Distance from the outermost face on the stick collar (or boss) on the left side to the outermost face on the stick collar (or boss) on the left side
- All recorded values are successfully cross-referenced and matched against the official TRK lugging measurements.
